Phil Jackson was born on 22nd January 1954.
He spent his early years in Crewe, Cheshire, attending Bedford Street School for boys and later at South Cheshire College of Further Education.

There he was training to be an art teacher.
However Phil eventually followed a careeer in sales.

During 1991 Phil met professional artist and author Gary Sargent and was greatly influenced by him and his work. Gary convinced Phil he should go back to Art education, so he did and for two years attended Halton College of Art gaining a B.tech in Art and Design.

Phil was accepted at Liverpool John Moores University but because of family pressures he had to decline.
Today he paints or sketches most days and has attended life classes regularly since 1991.
