Creating art is a way of life for me.
A journey to discover that which you will probably never find but doesn't stop you trying.
My art is very influenced by light. Obsessed really.

The light has to come from within the picture, from the white of the paper or the canvas rather than introducing white pigment.

Phil was recently delighted to win a prize at the Williamson Art Gallery's Spring Exhibition with "Spring in my Step" He won a prize and the Gallery decided to purchase the work for thier collection. The picture is on view in the Williamson, Birkenhead, Wirral until the 4th June 2006.

I do not seek to reproduce a specific landscape, portrait or figure but to invoke a moment, a sense, unique to each work of art. Oil on Canvas, Pastel, Watercolour, Pencil and Charcoal. I work with all these mediums throughout the year. Predominately on the Wirral, Cheshire and North Wales

I have decided to launch this web site so that my work is available to a wider audience.
